Banner Finishing

Banner finishing is one of  my more regular duties in the work place.
The things i require are:
  • A good size work space
  • A snap off knife
  • A ruler
  • Banner tape
  • Roller
  • Eyelets
  • Eyelet press

The first thing i have to do, is cut the excess banner material away from the banner, i do this by placing the ruler at the end of the print to give me a 34mm hem, this is to give the banner edge strength for the eyelet.

After cutting the banner down, i flip it over face down so i can put banner tape down the 34mm hem. Then i would fold the hem backwards this gives the banner more strength for the eyelets. Then you would just run a roller down the edge putting on pressure.

Then depending on the size of the banner is where i would now eyelet the banner using a eyelet press and eyelets, unless the banner has special requirements i would do this every 2foot. This is so you can hang the banner in various places.

After doing these procedures this is what a finished banner should like, then all that is required is to pack the box where you put bagging over the banner this is for protection then to put it into a box to fit the banner size.

After boxing it you get the paper work for the banner you have just finished and send it to the warehouse and from here it is sent to the customer with a courier.
